# GRAPH OF FUNCTIONS

To draw the graph for any function, we need to take some positive and negative values of $$\displaystyle x,$$ then find the corresponding values of $$\displaystyle y.$$ And make the line or curve by joining the points obtained.

(1) Straight Line $$\displaystyle \left( Ax+By+C \right)=0$$.

(2) Circle $$\displaystyle \left[ {{\left( x-h \right)}^{2}}+{{\left( y-k \right)}^{2}}={{r}^{2}} \right]$$

where $$\displaystyle \left( h,\,\,k \right)$$ are co-ordinates of centre and $$\displaystyle r$$ is the radius of the circle.

(3) Parabola $$\displaystyle \left[ {{\left( x-h \right)}^{2}}=4a\left( y-k \right) \right]$$

(4) Ellipse : $$\displaystyle \left[ \frac{{{x}^{2}}}{{{a}^{2}}}+\frac{{{y}^{2}}}{{{b}^{2}}}=1 \right]$$

(5) Modulus Function $$\displaystyle y-k=\left| x-h \right|$$

(6) Logarithmic Function$$\displaystyle \left[ y=\log x \right]$$

(7) Exponential Function $$\displaystyle \left[ y={{e}^{x}} \right]$$
